If you peer into the Heart Nebula (IC 1805) you'll find this ethereal structure in the midst of a star cluster known as Melotte 15. Stellar winds and radiation from massive hot stars in this star cluster sculpt out fantastical shapes of cosmic clouds, creating the pillars of ionized gases that you see here.

I used specialized astronomy filters to capture light waves from ionized Sulphur, Hydrogen, and Oxygen gasses that reside in this nebula. In all, this image is the result of 12 hours of 3-min exposures.
