Located in the Cygnus constellation, NGC 6992 is a supernova remnant from a massive star that exploded 5000 years ago. The nebula's intricate filaments and shock waves are illuminated by the energy released during the explosion. NGC 6992 is approximately 1,400 light-years away from Earth and spans about 50 light-years across.

A cloud of heated and ionized gas and dust, the Eastern Veil constitutes a visible portion of the larger Veil Nebula complex - also known as the Cygnus Loop.

• Calibration: 40 dark, flat, dark-flat frames
• Stacking: Astro Pixel Processor
• Editing: PixInsight, Photoshop, Starnet++
• Total Exposure: 25 hours
